Like everyone else on this beautiful earth, I have many roles. I am a mother of two boys – one with hemophilia; I am a sister, a daughter and a recent widow. I am a professional; I am a friend. I am a martial artist. I am a singer, songwriter and trumpet player. I am a snowboarder and a coffee drinker.

I’ll be honest here: I’m a little nerdy, but I’m genuine. What you see is what you get. I may not be all that polished, but what I do, I do well. I’m an optimist, and I believe good things will come to me in this life. They already have, so I have a good track record to go on.

I am trying to find a balance in my life between work and play, family and friends, dreams and responsibilities. I am trying to find a balance between my faith as a Christian and my professional life as a marketer. I am trying to find a way to be authentic but still be taken seriously… but perhaps lean more towards being authentic and maybe less towards being taken seriously.

In my day job, I work as Marketing Manager for Grouse Mountain – Vancouver’s most visited attraction with over 1.2 million visitors each year, which doubles as a super fun local ski/snowboard area. I have been with the company over 11 years now and absolutely love it. At the same time, I’m a hopeless busy-body and have to be doing something every moment of the day… whether it’s working, parenting, learning, writing, making music, praying, or enjoying time with my friends and family. I have a really hard time sitting and doing nothing.

I’m slowly learning to live my life over again since the death of my husband in March 2010. Single parenting is not what I’d set out to do, but day by day I’m learning and growing. I have a million thoughts but only a few ever make it to my blog. I hope you’ll enjoy what you read here. Blessings.

  2. Michelle, I love your sidebar “about me” (“let’s be honest here”) etc. I hear you – very cool.
